Reddit flair is a tag that you can add to posts in a subreddit. It helps other Redditors understand what your post is about and see it in a certain category.
Types Of Reddit Flairs Which You Can Use
When you post or comment on Reddit, one of the following icons will appear next to your username.
This is called flair, and it's a way to identify members of specific communities.
It also helps Redditors who frequent a certain subreddit know who is talking in a discussion.
Intro About Reddit Flair
So what is Reddit flair? At its core, Reddit is a content aggregator.
It also has a few social features and forums that allow communication between Redditors.
One such feature is the flair system: it's a text snippet used to identify what type of content the poster has submitted or contributed to the site.
Flair comes in several shapes and forms: text, icons, and even animated GIFs are associated with your posting history.
In simple words, flair is a type of tag that you can add with your post to your username.
Flair on your post will help your readers filter your content, and it helps them find you by searching your flair name.
The flair with your username helps you to represent or show your knowledge and interest in certain topics.
It could read “Teaching College” or “Writing Coding Tutorials”; these are just examples of what you might see around various subreddits on Reddit.
Flair Types
Depending on what your post is about, you can use a few different types of flairs.
They range from the text-based flair to link and self-flairs to identify if you have contributed to a subreddit yourself and the link contained in your post is self-made.
Let’s examine them all:
·Text Flair: Text flairs are fairly straightforward. You can add a sentence or two that will be shown alongside every post you make. For example, you might say that you are a "Father of two who loves to write about technology."These types of flairs are fairly simple and easy to set; it's useful for posting statuses, short descriptions, etc.
Link Flair: Link flairs are used for long-term posts or content containing many links to a single topic. You can use them for posting reviews or guides on any given subject. For example, you might add “Amazon" flair and link out to the Amazon product you're reviewing, as well as provide a link back to your blog post on Amazon reviews.
Animated Flair: Animated flairs were introduced as a way for users to stand out from the crowd of posts. People can add an animated GIF that will display every post they make for as long as they keep posting in a given subreddit.
Official User: This shows that a Redditor is an official member of Reddit's team and approved by the community to moderate their content.
